Mesothelioma Help

The disease of mesothelioma causes to the people who are directly or indirectly exposed to asbestos. So far, USA has been the country with the maximum count of mesothelioma patients. In USA 2000-3000 new cases of mesothelioma are registered in every year. Mesothelioma particularly forms in three parts in the human body, these are as: (1) Chest Cavity, (2) Abdomen, and (3) On the Lining around the Heart. Approximately 70-75% of the patients are diagnosed with mesothelioma in the chest cavity. About 15-20% cases of mesothelioma is detected in the abdomen. But, the cases of mesothelioma around the lining of the heart are very rare. Mesothelioma by nature is a rare form of cancer and most pathetic fact with it is, practically nothing can be done in helping out the victim even after early detection of this disease. There are many advance diagnostic/treatment methods like chemotherapy, PET scan etc. but after a few years the victims of mesothelioma succumbs to this painful disease.

1. Mesothelioma in the Chest Cavity = pleural mesothelioma
2. Mesothelioma in the Abdomen = peritoneal mesothelioma
3. Mesothelioma On the Lining around the Heart = pericardial mesothelioma

The things that have tremendous impact are the continuous sufferings of the patients and the family members or beloved one attached to the patient who receives unbearable metal trauma. As discussed, it’s a rare form of cancer and its diagnosis and treatment goes up very expensive. Unless there comes help from the government or the employer (responsible to turn an asbestos worker into a mesothelioma victim) its hard to afford the expensive diagnostic and treatment procedure for mesothelioma.

  1. Mesothelioma, an agressive form of lung cancer resulting from exposure to asbestos consists of two general types, pleural mesothelioma and peritoneal mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is closely linked to exposure to asbestos. Around 2,000 to 3,000 people are diagnosed with mesothelioma in the United States every year. Malignant mesothelioma is more common in older male adults; even though a mesothelioma diagnosis can come at any age, most people with mesothelioma cancer are 65 and older.
