Mainly caused by asbestos exposure, the three form of Mesothelioma has been identified as epithelioid, sarcomatoid, biphasic. These particular categories have their very independent features and affects on the patients. Though this deadly disease affects the human body at a later stage of life (between 50 to 70 years of age), but some safety measures, if religious applied both the employer and the worker, the risks of mesothelioma may be reduced may times lower:

* Make sure of minimum level of exposure to asbestos at workplace and home.
* While working with asbestos, the employees must use all the protective equipments provided by the employer. And while initiating a work process involving exposure to asbestos, the employer must ensure all the safety norms and provide the necessary protective equipments for the employee’s protections from asbestos in any form.
* The employer must provide all the safety measures to the employees directly or indirectly get exposed to asbestos during their work.
* The employers and the workers must follow the guidelines laid down by the asbestos regulatory agency known as the Occupational
* Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Regarding higher amount of risk involved when a worker get exposed to asbestos and he/she bring home the asbestos particles carrying with cloths, hair, and skin. The fibers being carried in by them are likely to affect their family members. To minimize this risk, the asbestos worker should do the following:

* Remove the cloths and putting them in the washing machine soon after leaving the workplace.
* At the end of the day, before leaving the factory take a shower by cleaning your body and the hairs with soaps and shampoos.

Though, till date, there is no observation that smoking influences the cause of Mesothelioma. But, smoking has been directly responsible in causing lung cancer. Smoking in combination with asbestos exposure mat proved to more hazardous and fatal to the people susceptible either to Mesothelioma or lung cancer. It has been observed that the filters of a number of popular cigarette brands are made of asbestos. Its not strictly recommended 'quit smoking by the fear of Mesothelioma' but for the people directly or indirectly exposed to asbestos may quit smoking for turning the things more fatal.
